This product has worked well for me. It certainly does what it says it does. I was really sceptical at first because I didn't have much experience with pheromones, but it has made me a believer. I just tried this stuff for the first time tonight, and it worked perfectly. My hair that wasn't gray stayed natural, and I'd say about half of the gray was colored.

I had been debating about coloring my hair for some time now, but was afraid of looking unnatural. My fears were unfounded. Basically I now look the same as I did a few years ago when I was less gray.

Was easy to use. Quick. Much less smelly than my wife's hair color products - and no significant residual smell.




The last few years my greying brown hair began turning mostly white around the edges. I've used other brands but wasn't happy with the results. This product isn't as aggressive as I'd like but it does a good job of deepening the color of areas that still have some color and adding color to the grey and white areas. The overall look meets my expectations. My wife says it makes me look a little younger. But its not the big change I was hoping for. I've used the product four times now and find that the result isn't cumulative. But by using it monthly I'm able to maintain a modest improvement.

So don't look for this product to fully color your hair. Its a subtle change and people do notice but, of course, you don't need to tell them you're using hair color. I should add that its relatively convenient to use, takes about 10 minutes to apply plus a shower to wash it out. A bit messy but it comes with plastic gloves. Keep some tissues handy to wipe up any that drips on the sink or onto skin.


I like this product very much because it looks natural and, at least in my case, blends well and leaves some strands of grey hair. I use the Dark Brown,and was afraid it would not be dark enough going by the picture on the package, but on my hair it appears darker than said picture. I am 57 (and yes, Lucy is a male), and only parts of my hair are going grey, so I don't usually cover all my hair, leaving a lot of product left over. The main thing I want to add to the other reviews is this: the insert specifically says you can only use the product once, then must discard it and use a new tube next time. This is nonsense. The product works by reacting with air to turn dark, so all you need to do to keep it usable is keep it from hitting air. When you are done applying, remove the applicator, squeeze out every last bit of air from the tube, and replace the cap, being careful to keep a little "squeeze" on the tube while doing so, so air doesn't get sucked back in. When you use it next time, it will look clear (if it doesn't, air got in) and work fine. I have used each tube several times over the course of several months doing this, and it works perfectly.


I have used this product 2-3 times, with very good results. I have moderately short hair, dark brown, so I used the dark brown color. Based on other reviews here that reported too much darkening, I began with 2 minutes instead of the 5 recommended on the package. It wasn't quite as much as I needed, so after a few more trials, I settled on just over 4 minutes. The results are excellent and very uniform and natural looking, with highlights of grey blended throughout. Each treatment lasts 5 or 6 weeks.


It works great. I have full control of how much grey I want to darken. Easy to use. Love it.


Having a gorgeus salt and peper thick hair just trying for kicks this product: first it is hard just to get used to the new grayish color (takes some time I assume...) nevertheless it looks a bit gray dull to me. Ordered the jet black color since my black hair was extremely black(called azabache in Spain) the result is that I feel I lost the salt and peper look that drove women crazy. Now I have a more relaxed time without so many women chasing me...

I just used this Aveda Blue Malva Conditioner on my color treated (by me) highlighted grey/blond hair. It's a miracle. My hair was very brassy and I was sure I was headed back to the hair salon for help. I first just used it as a regular conditioner. After shampooing I left it in a few minutes and rinsed out. Not so great. Next day I used it on dry hair and let it set a half hour and rinsed it out. It completely toned the brassy color to a pale blond. I can't recommend this product too highly.


Been using it on my bleach blonde hair once a week for years, and it does tone-down brassiness. Has a strong lavender/herbal scent, but works great on the color. I know people with grey hair who use it too.




I feel this is the best daily conditioner by Avada. It keeps the warm tones out of my blonde hair and feels great.


This product along with the Blue Malva Shampoo provide the best results for removing brassiness from blonde and yellow from gray hair, while leaving hair soft, strong and silky with a healthy shimmer. I've tried many products while transitioning from dyed blonde to silver/gray but have yet to find any that top Aveda's.
