Customer Buzz
I love how I can see how many calories I burned. The machines at my gym normally way I burn a 50 + more calories than I actually did. It also helps keep me motivated to stay in my target heart rate zone. Was a little difficult to program but once I played around I got it.

Love this watch!

Customer Buzz
I think this watch is great. I have been using it for a few weeks and have not had an issue with it. Its comfortable and I dont even realize I am wearing the strap when I am working out. Its easy and fun to use and use it for running. It motivates me to workout harder and longer! My boyfriend has the same watch for men and he digs it too.

Customer Buzz
This heart rate monitor is very easy to use. It is extremely accurate and comfortable. It has a watch, alarm and timer all in it. Great for general exercise monitoring.

Customer Buzz
The Polar F6 Heart Rate monitor is very easy to use, once you have read the directions. It tracks calories burned, as well as heart rate broken down into time in light, moderate and hard zones. It beeps when you are not in your target heart rate zone or when you are above it. This was initially annoying, but I hardly notice it now.

Customer Buzz
I've been very happy with this watch. It's cute and it does what I want. It's easy to you and the chest strap is comfortable. The first watch I got didn't work, but Amazon was shipping a new one before they even got my return. The second one has been fine.

Customer Buzz
I don't know exactly how accurate this device is as far as calories burned, but being able to see the results of my workout makes my routine very dynamic. I'm starting to concentrate less on sets and reps and more on a target heart rate. What's also nice to see is that after working out for an hour my heart rate is elevated by as many as 25 BPM for over an hour after I stop which is burning even more calories than it initially calculates. If you keep the band on for a day you can see how many calories you can burn in just quick exercise sets, like doing 40 pushups and situps after a meal burns over 50 calories and I barely break a sweat. Soldier approved!

Customer Buzz
This heart rate monitor is better than I expected. It helps one to determine if one is indeed working within the heart rate expected and although it's a bit "large" on a small woman's arm, one doesn't need to really have it on the wrist at all. You can simply have it near the cardio machine of your choice - better yet, the cardio machine picks up your heart rate from the monitor strapped around your chest so you don't even need to have the watch to see how you're doing. Fabulous choice! Buy it.

Customer Buzz
I love my Polar f6! It is easy to use and keeps track of everything I need. I really like the stop watch feature when I run outside so I can time intervals and know how long I've been running. I have no issues so far! I use at everyday!

Customer Buzz
I haven't owned a HRM before, and decided to purchase one to make improvements in my bicycling goals. It's a recommended purchase. Since purchasing it, I've noticed very quick improvements once I based my training on suggested heart rates that I monitored with this HRM.

The unit comes with a chest transmitter that has a strap for a "medium" chest. I have a 48" chest, and after extending its buckle to the maximum it fits just right. If you have a chest diameter of more than this (where it is attached to the chest) you will need to purchase a larger strap. I've seen the straps for sale and they are less than $10. The strap seems to stay in place for most of my exercises, although I've had to adjust it a couple of times when it began to "ride down" my chest.

I've also discovered the T31 transmitter that comes with this unit also works with a lot of cardio machines you find in gyms. So this is very handy... you don't have to look at the HRM itself all the time, but you can keep an eye on what is reported on the cardio machine equipment. That was a nice "extra" I didn't expect.

The HRM unit itself had all the basic features I was looking for. I think it's a great "first monitor" if you've never had one before. It's enough to accomplish any immediate goals you have and will make you think about other features you may want in more expensive HRMs. I've found it sufficient for my purposes.

The menus take a little time to learn, but within a day you'll have it. One thing I have wished for on the HRM is that it seems you can only be monitoring for a single "zone" during an exercise session. I have 3 zones I want to include in my exercise program, so I have to manually change the zone limits each time I want to train in a different zone. That's a hassle for me... how many of you can remember all your zone limits?

One one thing I have wished for on this HRM is the ability to delete old logs. They stay until they finally fall out of a time range. When I first purchased the HRM, I had 3 "play sessions" to learn how it works. Later I accidentally turned on the HRM when I was going to the gym. This created 4 "fake training sessions" that I cannot remove in the history log. Whenever I upload my training sessions to Polar's personal trainer web site, these "fake sessions" show up each time and I have to manually delete them. It would be great to be able to remove these directly from the HRM itself and not have to do this each time.

Anyway -- I still recommend it. It's a great first purchase of a HRM.

Customer Buzz
I always get Polar HRM- they last forever & I usually give my old ones to my sisters to use, because they still work. But when it comes to working out, I am a gadget junkie so I have to have the newest model/color. I noticed the biggest complaint by others is battery replacement. I have never had a transmitter quit working & my batteries usually last a good long while. So... when you go to replace your battery, use your local jeweler. He can order the battery if he doesn't have it on hand. F11, he has on hand usually- F6 or F4, may have to order. BUT it always costs me between $10-15!!! And I know he will put it back together well- no leaks. Don't worry about that waterproofing junk- mine have never leaked even after I replaced the batteries. Polar is the best, hands down- & they have great features & are easy to use!

Nike Triax C5 Heart Rate Monitor Watch

Product Description

When we were designing this heart rate monitor, we called it "The Basic." Real simple. A few special features that you don't need to use if you don't want to. Continuous heart rate display. One heart rate zone. You select a high and a low heart rate. The watch beeps outside the zone, and at the end of a workout, tells you how long you were able to stay in the zone. Also shows average heart rate at the end of a workout. A simple stopwatch. Tells the time and date. Safe in a swimming pool. The watch and the chest strap both have a battery hatch, so you can change the battery yourself.

Customer Buzz
After many hours of reading reviews I knew that Nike was probably my best bet. I wasn't interested in the battery issue the Polar monitors have and so many of the others just didn't rate well.
Getting an accurate monitor is especially important to me because I am working out nearly everyday and am pregnant, so I have to monitor myself and back off when needed. I chose this watch because it is fairly basic, stopwatch, heartrate, and time- all I need.
I've been using it for a couple months now and am happy with it. This is a good quality monitor for a fair price. The strap is comfortable, I forget I'm wearing it. I love that the gym's equipment picks up its signal as soon as I get on to display my HR on the screen. So far I've not ever had a problem with another HR monitor interfereing when I do my spin or other classes. I've found it to be very accurate while working out. However, at rest it seems a bit off sometimes- but that's not when I'm concerned about my HR. During one workout last week I was getting some odd readings, but I had not wet it before strapping it on so I don't think it was getting a good signal. It seems as long as I do what I'm supposed to do (rub a little water on it before strappping it on) then it does what it's supposed to do. Unless you want to spend a lot more money on a Polar, and hassle with returning it for battery replacements, this is probably the next best thing- or just as good!
One final note of importance, I broke off the attachment piece to the strap my third time ever using it! I wasn't paying close attention and pulled at it the wrong way in my rush. I called the customer service number that came in the box and was helped very quickly. No problem, a new strap was sent immediately with no cost to me! Nike was great to work with.

Customer Buzz
This works very well and is very easy to set up and use. It appears to be accurate when compared to machines. I have had some trouble getting it to sync with machines, but that is okay.

Customer Buzz
This product is great for anyone that wants to know their heartrate during exercise- the best way to tell whether you're getting a workout or not. Came is good condition.

Customer Buzz
I had a polar monitor that continually would not register in mid-workout. In contrast, I have not had a single problem with the Nike Triax (so far, one month). Additionally, the Nike watch allows the buyer to change the batteries themself, but the Polar monitors do not-one has to send it in to Polar when the battery inevitably wears out.

Customer Buzz
Overall I love this heart rate monitor, but the only thing I don't like is that the watch is a little big.

Reebok Strapless Silver Heart Rate Monitor Watch (Silver)

Product Description

Time of day / Daily Alarm / ECG Accurate Measurements / Night Vision / Memory and Recall - 20 Readings / Chronograph mode / Pacer mode / 42 Lap records

Customer Buzz
I have used this monitor now for about a month and find it works pretty much according to my expectations. Often in order for it to measure my rate a have to stop walking for a few seconds while it attain rate. Once when it was quiet cold our it could not acquire a pulse rate until I was almost done with my 1 hour long 4 mph hike.

Customer Buzz
The other reviews I read said that the watch didn't work when they received it. I didn't listen and purchased it anyway. I called the company directly and said to get another battery and it should work. Amazon should check to see if the watch is on before they send it. I'm sure it will work, but its a pain on top of the embarrassment of giving it as a gift.

Customer Buzz
Works really well. I use it during exercise and to check my resting heart rate. Generally gives a good reading.

Customer Buzz
I've had this for several years now and it's very accurate, great battery, like the stop watch. It has a lot of bells and whistles so i don't use the lap timing or the alarm but they are great extra's if you are looking for that. I just like to check my heart rate while exercising and have compared it when to other monitors, and it is accurate within one number. It has a light on the side so you can ses it at night too!

Customer Buzz
If you hate having to put on a strap and constantly adjust it, then this is the product for you!

As some have already noted it does require you to pause for a few seconds to get a good reading. But, I've been doing a ton of exersice videos and sports like basketball and soccer which always give me a few seconds of pause to take a reading. It gives a great read out of the amount of time you have exercised and total calories burned. I found that adjusting the wrist band about one notch tighter than I might wear a normal watch was helpful in getting good contact with the skin for a quick results. With the exercise videos it is very easy to remember to take regular readings. But with other sports it might be more difficult.

One con to the strapless technology is that there is no constant reading, which could set off an alarm to notify you when your heart rate is above or below the desired zone. It only alerts you when you take the reading. The chest strap technology does provide an advantage in that area, if the feature comes with your product.

Customer Buzz
i bought this for my daughter for christmas. she is a cross country runner and wanted a heart monitor sports watch with no chest strap. she says it works perfectly and is very happy with it.

Customer Buzz
I am a cardiac patient and was not able to wear a strap for some time. This watch is good for those who can not wear a strap. I used this watch when I was only allowed to walk and not do any strenuous exercise. And the watch worked very well for me. Now that I am fully recovered I use a heart monitor with a strap because of my increased activity. I now use this watch when I go to work and I check my heart rate while I am using the stairs instead of the elevator, or if I am doing a brisk walk during my lunch break. It is very simple to use.

Customer Buzz
Don't waste your money unless your workout is sitting on the couch. This monitor is sold as "providing unobtrusive reading of your heart rate during your workout". Since you have to stand still to get an accurate reading one has to wonder what type of workout Reebok did to substantiate this claim. Get a strapped monitor for working out. While this is a great idea the design doesn't match the intended purpose.

Customer Buzz
I disagree with the previous reviewer. If you want a truly accurate reading while doing exercise you need to have a model with a strap. A strapless model requires you to stop the activity and read the results. The Reebok Silver is a great value and does what it is supposed to. The instructions are quite clear and if you follow them you will get an accurate reading. I am very satisfied.

Customer Buzz
Consumer Reports rated all the "strapless" models below the others. Their analysis showed that this method of estimating your heart rate is far less accurate than using a monitor with a chest strap. In addition, the Reebok models were generally rated lower than Polar, Acumen, and others.

Nike Triax C8 Heart Rate Monitor Watch

Product Description

Coach Roy Benson helped us design this heart rate monitor for runners based on a simple idea. When you're running, you should think about running, not your watch. So the Triax C8 requires less button pushing and has a more readable display.Continuous heart rate display. A runners chronograph (stopwatch). Shows lap and split (total) time. Introducing the Benson button. While running, you can stay in RUN mode, and press this button to see other views. Lap and split times, or heart rate. One heart rate zone. You select a high and a low heart rate. The watch beeps outside the zone, and at the end of a run, tells you how long you were able to stay in the zone. After a workout, you can review your lap times for up to 50 laps, average heart rate, and see how long you spent in your heart rate zone. Features a 2 segment interval timer. Great for a walk/run marathon, or for doing speed work with recovery sessions. Tells the time, date, and has one alarm. Safe in a swimming pool. The watch and the chest strap both have a battery hatch, so you can change the battery yourself.

Customer Buzz
Great runners watch. I've had none of the problems with the chest band that everyone complans about. Just be careful when you take it off I suppose is all you need to be aware of. This until doesnt count calories burned which I wished it did. i know the C6 does, but it would be nice if this one did too. programming is a little tedious but once you figure it out, its not a big deal.

Customer Buzz
Like many other reviewers, I think Polar has the best selection and functionality in HRMs, but I just got tired of being dependent on Polar for battery replacement. The Nike Triax C8 has the basic functionality I need, and I can just go to the drugstore for a CR2032 battery when either the monitor or the chest strap need one. I like the rotation of the monitor face. It's a small detail, but it makes viewing the monitor just a little easier when I'm running. The C8 also came with a little stand for the monitor that I put on my elliptical trainer. I put the monitor on the stand (like a watch display in a store showcase), and now I don't have to take my hand off the elliptical to check heart rate. Another nice little detail. The chest strap is a bit over-engineered, with a locking tab that isn't really necessary and is more likely to break. The big issue with the chest strap is size. I am not a big man (my chest measures about 40 inches where the strap goes), and I have the chest strap adjusted almost all the way out. I read other reviewers' complaints about the strap breaking, and I can understand that happening if you have to stretch it around a big chest. For me, the fallback (should I need one) is the chest strap and transmitter that came with my Vision Fitness treadmill. It works with the Nike (and with Polar and all other fitness equipment I've used), and it too takes a CR2032 battery.

Customer Buzz
Great HR monitor, easy to use and program. However, it DOES NOT count accumulated calories as stated, which is strange for a higher end model to have less features than it's less expensive (c6) counterparts. Overall good purchase but if you are training to lose weight, a calorie counter estimate would be a good feature to use.

Customer Buzz
If you have that 40 year old reach to read things be careful the button descriptors on this product are in small print. Otherwise as a heart rate monitor this seems to be working well. I use primarily in the gym and the monitor has great range as far as I can see my rate on the adjacent machines if others are not using monitors as well. My boyfriend keeps me in check that way!

Customer Buzz
I have been running seriously for the past 5 years, 4 to 5 times a week, preparing for weekend races, half and full marathons. I've had a more expensive watch from Timex with GPS and a lot of functions but very soon you realize that you don't need all the bells and whistles. To train properly, you just need a reliable heart rate monitor, a good display of split times and HR, and readable after workout statistics (lap times, split times, HR per lap). This watch has all that and little more (HR zones that nobody really uses with more experience). On my wish list, I would have liked to have on the display the three pieces of information: lap time, cumulative time, and HR as you can only see two of these at the same time. During a long race, when you reach a mile marker, it is important to know how fast you've ran the last mile, how long you've ran so far, and your current HR.

By the way my favorite Timex watch died on me as I tried to replace the battery myself; I was tired of paying someone $20 to put in a $3 battery but I learned my lesson... You can google how to do that but something must be definitively loose as the watch randomly reboots in the middle of a workout (and you lose all data...). The Triax C8 (2008) seems to let the user change the battery as there's a slot in the back to open the watch with the help of a coin.

The only con so far after 3 months of use is the wristband. The watch is very difficult to remove as the extremity of band kind of widens out completely unnecessarily, so I had to trim that out. That helps but that's not the end of this annoyance. The metallic buckle is shaped weirdly and the rubber band gets stuck in it (a lot of friction). If you're tired and not really thinking about anything else but a nice bath, you tend to rush and pull hard on that band. That reaps the metallic buckle off the band; this has happened twice so far. Be extremely careful if that happens as the axle holding the buckle on the band is made of two tiny metallic pieces and a tinier spring in between... It is very easy to lose one of these three pieces, I've just been very lucky not to. If you lose a part, it'd be disastrous as you can't replace the band (it is part of the body of the watch -- stupid design). I guess you could always try to find an understanding jeweler to try to fix things...

Customer Buzz
This is a great product and I love it. It is accurate, looks fabulous, affordable, etc.

Customer Buzz
The product has worked well for me. The only "hitch" if you want to call it that, is that you have to wet the back of the heart monitor before you put it on so it will read. Once you begin to exercise and therefore sweat, the monitor continues to work. It also works will all the equipment at my gym, so that means you can look at the much larger display on the exercise machine to see your heart rate. Overall, I do like it. Plus I've worn the watch as a normal watch when I've left mine at home and it looks fine for everyday wear.

Customer Buzz
This product has been very helpful for my husband who has begun to get back into shape, and is not an experienced runner (yet).

Customer Buzz
I didn't receive the product. I reached the supplier who showed all her understastanding and promised to cooperate once the C8 Nike watch returns to her. However neither the heart rate monitor nor the money are back with me.
Please DO something ! I have already placed my comments regarding this situation but no one took action on my behalf.

Regards , Sylvia
