It is believed that the most important advantage of Philips-Norelco is that it shaves like a blade. On the contrary, if you want to feel comfortable while shaving, you should shave almost every day or every other days.
It was true with my previous Philips-Norelco, but not with this one. This type still has the above-mentioned disadvantage, but unfortunately it is not as efficient as the more expensive types. So with the same amount of money, maybe it is better to try the other brands, which have different shaving mechanisms rather than the rotary one.
Another item I bought for my husband that he is happy with. Two for me.
This corded Norelco was under $20 when I bought it and shaved as close as the ones costing three times as much.
I like this shaver because it does just what I need it to do. I get a close shave with little fuss - not quite as close as a blade can give, but with absolutely no risk of a cut - and at about $44 it's much less expensive than almost all the other Philips Norelco shavers.
It's not rechargeable, so you have to plug it in every time you shave, and the cord isn't very long or flexible, so sometimes it will pull out of the shaver, interrupting the shave. Just reinsert it and carry on.
Since it doesn't run on a rechargeable battery the motor never slows down due to declining battery power, and you don't have to leave it plugged in to charge it up. My guess is that it uses less electricity overall than a rechargeable. Of course you have to have access to AC power to run it, but that's only a problem if you want to take it with you on camping trips - not a good idea anyway.
My husband loves his new electric shaver first I ever got him and he loves it works really good. His skin breaks out alot when he uses razors but this one his skins looks really great after he uses it.
I have a had norelco's for years. I tend to buy the very basic ones. The plastic on this one is a bit cheaper then the last. But it still gives a great shave like all of them. I see it as a very good value.
I bought this shaver because of the sale price on amazon. But this is a really bad shaver that seems to be designed to cut my skin. Am still in pain because of the cuts because of this shaver.
I looked around for a basic inexpensive razor. I realized that I hardly ever used my shaver on batteries so why pay for that feature. I figure I can buy a new razor every couple of years at this price rather than new cutting heads for for $30-35. For the price I am happy. The shaver has enough power and I did not expect the smoothness of a $100 shaver. The shaver seems sturdy enough. The shaver met my expectations.
First time to use an electric shaver. I though it would be worse, given that this is one of the cheapest on the market. I don't know if this applies to all electric shavers, but this is not to be used to get a perfect look. It can only be of use if u need to get ride of the dirty look before going to a casual meeting or to the gym. Not to be used if you're gonna meet an important person. Overall i don't regret buying it, and i use it quite often, but for me its not a substitution for the regular blade.
Cuts are too slow and not that good. Plug comes out of the wall and the razor very easily. Not very happy.
